Black Remote She (BRS) is a vital, community-driven platform dedicated to creating safe and equitable remote work opportunities for Black queer, trans, and nonbinary people. Founded by Jasmine T. Williams-Jacobs, the organization was born from a need to combat the homophobia, transphobia, and racism ingrained in traditional workplace cultures.
Centered on anti-oppressive principles and a radical ethic of care, Black Remote She vets employers to ensure they prioritize employee well-being and are committed to building genuinely inclusive cultures. BRS' work provides the community with crucial resources, including a screened job board, a hub for mental health and gender-affirming support, and tools to navigate the job search.

For the countless families in California navigating the profound challenges of dementia and cognitive decline, HōttoCare stands out as an exceptional Black woman physician-led resource.
As a Medicare-certified GUIDE program, HōttoCare provides comprehensive, physician-led support that is fully covered by traditional Medicare—at zero cost to eligible families (yes, it's actually free!)
True to its name—'Hōtto' means 'a sigh of relief' in Japanese—their model is designed to be that exact relief for overwhelmed caregivers. They provide a dedicated, multidisciplinary team offering 24/7 virtual help, medication management, and patient advocacy. Most notably, they provide a $2,500 yearly allowance, giving family caregivers the paid break they desperately need and deserve.
If you or someone you know is caring for a loved one with memory loss in California, we highly recommend checking your eligibility by texting 'Hi' to 763-363-6842 (76DEMENTIA) . No financial checks are required, and no prior dementia diagnosis is necessary to get help.

Sogorea Te’ Land Trust is doing essential work to rematriate the land to its original Indigenous caretakers. This women-led, urban Indigenous land trust is revitalizing the sacred connection between the Ohlone people and their unceded land.
Sogorea Te’ fosters healing, cultivates cultural practices, and teaches all of us how to be better relatives to the earth and to each other. They are actively creating a future where Indigenous people can thrive on their ancestral homeland.
We encourage our East Bay community to support and amplify their vital work. Consider paying the Shuumi Land Tax—a voluntary contribution for non-Indigenous residents—to help support this visionary work.
